Overview

As the economy shifts and changes, workforce planning is becoming an ever-growing necessity for organizations. With much of the workforce approaching eligibility for retirement, that presents a challenge in retaining knowledge and skills required to perform the work of the organization. In addition, many individuals who enter the workforce often transition from a college or university without a sufficient amount of work experience.

LTMC assesses Training and Development options (i.e. Instructor led, webinar, online courses, etc.) and can recommend the best option for dissemination of training as well as provide guidance regarding development and implementation of coaching systems to reinforce learning and training. When requested, LTMC provides off the shelf Advisory Services or customized curriculum development.  An over of LTMC’s training is summarized below:

  • Self-paced, online learning modules are flexible and designed for the independent learner with a growth mindset. LTMC online modules are asynchronous (does not take place in real time) and allow the learner to engage with pre and post self-knowledge checks, videos, and real-world scenario examples. These are designed to bring the content to life in a dynamic, flexible format without the constraints of a scheduled meeting time.
  • Instructor-moderated/guided means asynchronous instruction in which participation is guided by an instructor; while learners can engage with the materials at different times, a trainer or instructor may select specific start and end times, provide feedback, or deliver new content on a schedule.
  • Virtual instructor-led training is an online learning experience that simulates the experience of an in-person instructor-led training, despite the instructor and learners being in separate locations and using videoconferencing systems to communicate.
  • Curriculum Development: LTMC assists with the implementation of a uniformed instructional curriculum. LTMC offers expertise in different subject areas such as workforce, government contracting, and professional development.
  • Mentorship programs implemented within some federal agencies. Some agencies have formal mentorship programs, others have informal mentorship programs, and a good number have no mentoring program in place at all. Mentors help their peers set up their acquisition career development path and work with new employees continuously to address any issues or challenges they may have with their job functions. Many new recruit’s greatest initial challenge is learning the government culture. Mentors can help their peers get assimilated quickly and comfortable with their roles and responsibilities. This allows for increased productivity and performance as well as retention and job satisfaction. We understand that our greatest challenge is that there are not enough mentors right now and too many mentees.

LTMC has created training courses for programs such as MD SHA Business Development Assistance Program, Veterans Enterprise Training and Services Group, and Reid Community Development Corporation, just to name a few.
